It’s been confirmed. Lionel Messi has made the decision to relocate to the United States and play for Major League Soccer team Inter Miami. Messi turned down a lucrative contract from Saudi Arabia in favor of moving to the United States.
After departing Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his two-year contract, Messi, 35, has chosen his next step. Given that a return to Barcelona is impractical given the continued financial woes at the Nou Camp, he has disclosed that he is joining Miami. The Miami Dolphins will use Messi as a player.
Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo cited Messi as saying, “I’ve taken the decision that I will be going to Miami.”
I made the decision to leave Europe.
He went on to say, “It’s true that I had offers from another European team, but I didn’t even think about it because in Europe, my idea was only to go to Barcelona,” which is true, but he didn’t even think about it.
“Now that I’ve won the World Cup but can’t join Barca, it’s time for me to move to the MLS to live football differently and to enjoy my daily life more.
“Obviously with more calm, but with the same responsibility, the same desire to succeed, and the same drive to do things right.”
In the history of Major League Soccer (MLS), Messi will overtake players like Wayne Rooney, Gareth Bale, and David Beckham, the latter of whom is a co-owner of Inter Miami.
Messi is familiar with Inter because he and the rest of the Argentina national team practiced there in September before taking on Honduras in a World Cup qualifying game at Hard Rock Stadium. Italy’s Milan is home to Inter’s training facility.
Argentina defeated their opponents 3-0 as a result of Messi’s two goals, one of which was an incredible chip shot.
After the game, Messi returned to the training complex to speak with certain Inter players, including Gonzalo Higuain, who had previously been on the same national squad as him.
One of the individuals that spoke with Messi was Inter’s Argentine goalkeeper Ranieri, who also asked the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to sign his arm.
Ranieri quickly made it permanent when Messi gratefully gave his consent. He had the signature tattooed on his body the following day. View the recorded video.
After some time had gone, Ranieri posted an Instagram photo of his new tattoo with the message, “The best day ever. One of my dreams came true the other day. I had the opportunity to participate in a game with my national team, which featured some of the athletes I admire.
“I finally got to meet my model, my hero, the best player of all time, and a truly remarkable human being! It’s hard to express how thrilled I was to see you and learn that you were willing to sign my arm.
“Leo, you fulfilled a dream, and I’ll be reminded of the joy I felt when I first met you every time I look at the tattoo on my arm.
“I don’t know how to put into words how great you are! It took a great deal of sacrifice and the putting aside of a great deal of other things to be able to live out fantasies like the one I got to live yesterday.
The opportunities that this sport is giving me! The moment is now more important than ever, therefore let’s move on with everything.
Ranieri will not have the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi for a professional club due to his decision in February to join the team representing Florida Atlantic University.
However, he has given a positive response to the rumor that Messi will soon arrive in Miami. On Instagram, he shared a photo of the pair together along with the caption “Sonando despierto,” which is Spanish for “daydreaming.” Messi will represent the Miami Dolphins on the field.
