In the tit group, the yellow-cheeked tit is a large species (approximately 15 cm). The male has an upright black crest, a frank whitish and yellowish-olive upperpart with broad whitish wing bars, a huge black spot from the throat to the abdomen, and yellow cheeks and forehead with short black eye stripes. The female lacks the black ventral line and has olive-yellow underparts.
A huge species of blue tit (measuring around 15cm), the crested tit. Males have a black crest, milky flanks, olive-yellow upper body, wide white stripes on the wings, yellow cheeks and forehead with small black eye stripes, and huge black spots from the neck to the belly. The abdomen of the female is completely free of black and has an olive-yellow underside.
